BRIEF SYNOPSIS

Love Will Save the Day – Where Politics, Passion, and a Few Secrets Collide

Meet Loréal Rogers: a stunning, powerhouse attorney fresh off a game-changing Supreme Court victory and now taking her unapologetic swagger to the campaign trail. Running for Illinois Attorney General, she’s captivating voters with her fiery determination and a take-no-prisoners attitude. But there’s one big problem—her opponent, Jaxon Bryant.

Jaxon isn’t just any rival; he’s the charming son of a U.S. Senator, the golden boy of Illinois politics, and the frontrunner with an unshakable pedigree. Sparks fly when these two titans face off, and it’s not long before their oil-and-water dynamic starts cooking up something… surprising. After all, oil and water may not mix, but together, they make one hell of a cake.

As their worlds collide, layers of their past unravel—bringing up old wounds, messy love lives, and an undeniable chemistry that neither saw coming. But love isn’t simple, and when a deeply personal secret is revealed, it’s clear their journey will test not just their political ambitions but their capacity for vulnerability and trust.

Love Will Save the Day is a sharp, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy packed with drama, twists, and heartfelt moments. While delivering laughs and romance, it also shines a much-needed spotlight on the realities of HIV/AIDS in Black and Brown communities—all with a spoonful of sugar and a hefty dose of humor.

Get ready to laugh, cry, and cheer as Loréal and Jaxon discover whether love truly can save the day.

Director’s Statement

Love Will Save the Day is a romantic dramedy that tackles the unspoken with humor, heart, and urgency. Seven years ago, I created 90 DAYS, a short film that aimed to educate the Black community about HIV/AIDS while breaking down the stigma surrounding it. That journey was extraordinary—screening at over 30 top festivals worldwide, partnering with major organizations, and earning accolades, including the African Movie Academy Award and a clean sweep at the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase.

But every audience asked the same question: What happens next?

Love Will Save the Day is the answer. While 90 DAYS was a complete thought, the story it told opened the door to an even bigger conversation. Since 90 DAYS premiered at the 2017 NAACP Image Awards, the world of HIV/AIDS has changed dramatically. Groundbreaking advancements like U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) have redefined what it means to live with HIV, offering hope and freedom to millions. Yet, much remains the same—Black and Brown communities are still disproportionately impacted, stigma persists, and education is still desperately lacking.

This film is more than a love story between Loréal and Jaxon, two political opponents clashing in the high-stakes world of Chicago politics. It’s a bold, funny, and poignant exploration of love, power, and breaking barriers. Through laughter and connection, Love Will Save the Day seeks to educate, inspire, and ultimately, save lives.

With humor as its weapon and heart as its guide, this film is a call to action—and a reminder that even the toughest battles can be won with love. It’s time for Love Will Save the Day.
